About this seal

A Quebec business is identified by its NEQ (numéro d'entreprise du Québec), a 10-digit number from the enterprise register, and — if it collects sales tax — by a TPS (federal GST) account ending RT0001 and a TVQ (QST) account ending TQ0001. Stamps are not legally required in Quebec, but invoices and forms often carry these numbers, and a stamp adds them in one go. Because of the Charter of the French Language, the stamp is written in French by default; check with the Office québécois de la langue française if you also want other languages on it.

Common uses

  • Invoices and estimates that show NEQ, TPS and TVQ
  • Bank forms and supplier paperwork
  • Delivery slips and receipts
  • Letters to government and municipal offices

  3. Edit the address in the Quebec format with the postal code.

  5. Export a transparent PNG, SVG or PDF.

Frequently asked questions

What is the NEQ?

The NEQ (numéro d'entreprise du Québec) is a 10-digit number assigned by the Quebec enterprise register to businesses operating in Quebec.

What are TPS and TVQ?

TPS is the federal goods and services tax (GST) and TVQ the Quebec sales tax (QST). Registered businesses show the account numbers on invoices.

Is a stamp required on Quebec invoices?

No. The legally required information is the business identification and tax numbers; a stamp is only a convenient way of printing them.

Legal & usage

Stamps render in your browser for design and demonstration. A stamp is optional and adds no legal weight; only show the NEQ and tax numbers of a business you are authorized to act for, and check Quebec language rules for commercial documents.
