About this seal
No Dutch law requires a business to use a stamp, and day-to-day paperwork in the Netherlands is increasingly digital. A bedrijfsstempel is still handy where a paper or PDF form asks for “stempel en handtekening”, on delivery receipts, and on documents for foreign partners who expect one. The usual content is the trade name and legal form, the business address, the KvK (Chamber of Commerce) number and the VAT ID in the NL000000000B00 format.

Frequently asked questions
Do Dutch companies need a company stamp?
No. It is optional, and most Dutch documents are valid with a signature alone. A stamp is mainly a convenience for forms, receipts and international paperwork.
Which number goes on a bedrijfsstempel — KvK or btw?
Often both: the 8-digit KvK number identifies the business in the trade register, and the btw-identificatienummer (NL…B..) is the VAT ID used on invoices.
