About this seal

Swiss law does not require a company stamp, and signatures are what bind a company. Stamps are nevertheless widely used on delivery notes, forms and confirmations across all language regions. The identifier that sets a Swiss stamp apart is the UID (Unternehmens-Identifikationsnummer), written CHE-123.456.789; a VAT-registered business adds MWST, TVA or IVA after it depending on the language. Swiss German spelling uses “ss” instead of “ß”, as in Musterstrasse.

Common uses

  • Delivery notes and goods-received confirmations
  • Forms asking for “Stempel und Unterschrift” or “timbre et signature”
  • Quotes and invoices sent as PDF
  • Letters to banks, landlords and authorities

How to create it

  1. Open the template — the rectangular stamp layout is pre-applied.
  2. Replace Muster AG with your company name and legal form.
  3. Edit the street, postcode and town — in German, French or Italian.
  4. Enter your UID number with MWST, TVA or IVA if you are VAT-registered.
  5. Export a transparent PNG, SVG or PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Do Swiss companies need a stamp?

No. It is optional and customary; the signature of a person registered as authorised to sign is what binds the company.

Which language should a Swiss company stamp use?

Use the language of the company's registered seat — or its registered name in several languages. Add MWST, TVA or IVA after the UID to match.

Legal & usage

Stamps render in your browser for design and demonstration. A stamp has no legal effect of its own, and it must only show the UID of a business you represent.
