About this seal
In Mexico a rubber company stamp is not generally required by law, yet “firma y sello” is requested constantly: on acuses de recibo, delivery receipts, purchase orders, letters and forms for suppliers and government offices. A sello de empresa usually carries the razón social with its legal form, the fiscal address with colonia, C.P., city and state, and the RFC — the 12-character federal taxpayer registry code of a company. It is a different thing from the sello digital (CSD), the certificate used to sign electronic invoices (CFDI).

Frequently asked questions
Is a company stamp required in Mexico?
Not as a general legal rule, but many companies, suppliers and public offices ask for “firma y sello” on receipts and forms, so it remains standard business equipment.
Is this the same as the SAT sello digital?
No. The sello digital is a certificate (CSD) issued by the SAT for signing electronic invoices. This template produces the visual rubber-stamp image placed on paper or PDF documents.
How long is a company RFC?
A company (persona moral) RFC has 12 characters: three letters from the name, six digits for the incorporation date and a three-character homoclave. Individuals have 13.
