About this seal
A COPY stamp marks a reproduction so it cannot be passed off as, or confused with, the original — useful for contracts, certificates and invoices where only one original should be in circulation. The diagonal, semi-transparent style lets it sit over the content without hiding it.
Common uses
- Copies of contracts and certificates handed to third parties
- Duplicate invoices and receipts
- Reference copies in project files
- Copies attached to applications
How to create it
- Open the template — the blue diagonal overlay stamp reading “COPY” is pre-applied.
- Edit the wording, or add a line underneath for a date, initials or a reference number.
- Change the colour if your office uses a different convention — blue is the usual choice for this stamp.
- Download a transparent PNG (or SVG with Pro).
- Place it on a PDF or Word file with the document stamp tools, or print it on labels.
Frequently asked questions
Is COPY the same as CERTIFIED COPY?
No. COPY only says the page is a reproduction. A certified copy is a copy an authorised person has checked against the original and signed — see the certified copy stamp.
Can the stamp cover text and stay readable?
Yes — it is semi-transparent. Lower the opacity further in the editor if it sits over dense text.
Legal & usage
An office stamp is a status marking, not a signature, certification or official classification. Use it on documents you are entitled to annotate, and do not use it to misrepresent a document's status to others.
