About this seal

AS-BUILT marks drawings updated at the end of a project to show what was actually built — with changes, reroutes and field decisions recorded. They are handed to the owner for operation and future work, so the stamp usually records who prepared them and when.

Common uses

  • Project close-out drawing sets
  • MEP and utility records
  • Handover packages to building owners
  • Records for future renovations

How to create it

  1. Open the template — the blue rectangular box stamp reading “AS-BUILT” is pre-applied.
  2. Edit the fill-in lines under the word, or type the date, initials or reference before exporting.
  3. Change the colour if your office uses a different convention — blue is the usual choice for this stamp.
  4. Download a transparent PNG (or SVG with Pro).
  5. Place it on a PDF or Word file with the document stamp tools, or print it on labels.

Frequently asked questions

Who prepares as-built drawings?

Usually the contractor marks up changes during construction and the designer or contractor produces the final set; your contract decides.

Is as-built the same as record drawings?

Often used interchangeably; some firms reserve “record drawings” for the designer's version based on contractor mark-ups.

Legal & usage

An office stamp is a status marking, not a signature, certification or official classification. Use it on documents you are entitled to annotate, and do not use it to misrepresent a document's status to others.
