About this seal
INTERNAL USE ONLY is the everyday confidentiality label: not a trade secret, but not for customers, suppliers or the public either — price lists, draft policies, internal reports. Many information-security policies define it as a formal classification level with its own handling rules.
Common uses
- Internal reports and dashboards
- Draft policies and procedures
- Internal price lists and cost sheets
- Training material not meant for customers
How to create it
- Open the template — the red rectangular box stamp reading “INTERNAL USE ONLY” is pre-applied.
- Edit the wording, or add a line underneath for a date, initials or a reference number.
- Change the colour if your office uses a different convention — red is the usual choice for this stamp.
- Download a transparent PNG (or SVG with Pro).
- Place it on a PDF or Word file with the document stamp tools, or print it on labels.
Frequently asked questions
INTERNAL USE ONLY or CONFIDENTIAL?
Most policies rank CONFIDENTIAL higher. Use the label your own classification policy defines, consistently.
Does a label protect the document?
It tells people how to handle it; access controls and agreements do the protecting. The label makes the expectation explicit.
Legal & usage
An office stamp is a status marking, not a signature, certification or official classification. Use it on documents you are entitled to annotate, and do not use it to misrepresent a document's status to others.
